Alex Alletto

Alex Alletto, BFA, grew up in Rochester, New York. She found her love for dance at the Aquinas Institute where she studied with Donna Damelio Brett. Alex was inspired by her passion and began to explore the Rochester dance community, including participating in a summer dance intensive with BIODANCE. She continued her exploration by attending The College at Brockport SUNY. She learned from professors, Jim Hansen, Mariah Maloney, Karl Rogers, Stevie Oakes and connected closely with William Evans. Alex made her debut with BIODANCE in 2015 before transferring to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. The University of the Arts allowed her to study with faculty, Jesse Zaritt, Katie Swords-Thurman, Curt Haworth and Niall Jones, and also work with Beth Gill and Sidra Bell. After graduating Alex performed professionally with ClancyWorks Dance Company in Washington DC. After completing her contract Alex attended the American Dance Festival and had the privilege to perform works by Shen Wei Dance Arts. Alex is now back in Rochester performing with BIODANCE, Frazee Feet Dance, electricGrit dance, works by Heather Roffe, Jim Hansen and, Mariko Yamada. BIODANCE is thrilled to have her back in Rochester, rejoining BIODANCE in 2018.
